         ME (1)

         “Wow!” I cried when I saw the photograph of Manta ray in a calendar gift from one bank, almost ten years ago. In my mind, I had never thought that there would be any Thai diver able to meet her and take her photograph. I knew her…read her story…only in western books and magazines.

         “Don…ah…Don” I still remembered the guru of the Thai diving society. I had met him three or four times since I began to work on the marine science camp when I was a college student more than ten years ago.

         I used to ask Don about that photograph. He told me that he was diving at Similan before seeing her swerving in. I did not know if that was the first photograph of manta ray, taken by a Thai, or not. But for me, that was the first photograph of manta taken by a Thai photographer, which I had ever seen. That photo would remain in my mind for a long, long time.

         I would remember that, one of these days I would have the chance that Don had…meeting her in the sea.
