Bird Watching...Hiking...Trail to Haad Mai Ngam

From the Park Headquarters to Haad Mai Ngam is in the distance of about 2,000 meters, and it is one of the best nature trails in Thailand to learn about forest ecology on the island. On the entire trail are provided the interesting information signboards starting from the biggest Alexamdrian laurel in Thailand, then the abundant beach forest of Sea almonds and so on.

When passing through more than a half of the trail, you enter the evergreen forest area with various kinds of birds. Next is the wetland and mangrove forest before turning up on the hill to many fig trees. There are a lot of wild animals such as monkeys and squirrels. Especially between February and April, when these figs bear fruits, many birds will gather together to eat these fruits.

Before ending the trail, you will find Rataan palm forest. When you pass the last shrub, a white beach and blue sea is waiting for you. Haad Mai Ngam is fine shallow water diving spot. Many of you may go down diving to appreciate the beauty under the sea.

The trail to Haad Mai Ngam gives you a chance to appreciate two superb ecology systems…tropical rain forest and coral reef…within 3 hours. Also, it is safe and appropriate to all ages. You do not have to pay more, except for the snorkeling equipment.
