Forests in the Middle of the Sea

        With its distant location, and no disturbs from human beings, though small area of only tens square kilometers, the forests on the islands are very abundant that they become pure natural classrooms for us.

          Beach Forests: Found in a flat area along a beach such as Haad Chong Kaad and Haad Suthep. The floras found are Sea Almonds, Beach Morning Glories, Swamp Ferns, and so on.

          Mangrove Forests: Found in a large bay such as Ao Mai Ngam and Ao Sai Ane. The floras found are Black Mangrove, Red Mangrove and so on.

           Evergreen Forests: Found around the islands. They are regarded as abundant forests without disturbance. The floras found are Rubber trees, Sonchampa Champaks, Rataan palms, and so on.

   Do You Know?

          Tropical Rain Forest is regarded the highest diversity of ecology system on land. Floras in the forest are struggle for sunlight areas so there are many plants in various levels such as, low level, middle level, and top level. Each develops itself to survive. Some are parasites. These characteristics cause diversity of habitats which make animals in the evergreen forest be in high diversity.
