Delightful Phang-Nga
The 1st morning:Do you know? This time we come to Phang-Nga Bay, changing the atmosphere of going to faraway islands…boring. We arrive Phang-Nga, have a full-course breakfast before strolling to see caves and markets around the town. Phang-Nga is a small, but beautiful and livable town. People here are so kind.
Noon: We take a taxi to the Park Headquarters, it takes not more than half an hour. We talk to the park officers to get more information, then take a taxi to Tha Daan Port where there are a lot of long-tail boats to hire. We take lunch first; otherwise, we may have to pay more expensive on the islands.
Afternoon: We take a boat to see Thum Lod. Wow, so strange-looking! Especially when passing through the cave, there are marvelous stalactites and stalagmites. Then, we go to Khao Ping Gun and Khao Ta Poo, seeing the famous stack of Thailand. We, also, get into the Ping Gun hollow where the James Bond movie had been filmed. At this time, we admire the strange-looking nature. Just because of reading a book before we know how “sea notch” or grottos and sea caves have occurred. Then, We take a visit to Ko Panyee, seeing villagers’ way of life. Most are souvenir and food shops, so we go next to Khao Kien and Ko Raya. We have seen more than one-thousand-year prehistoric paintings also.
Evening: Come back to the port. So tired but very enjoyable. Tomorrow will be much more fun since we have reserved sea canoes already. Tonight, we better stay at a bungalow near the park, so comfortable.
The 2nd morning: Refresh and happy…We go to do sea canoeing today. The staff picks us up at the bungalow, takes us to the same port. Then, we get on a big boat smoothly running to Ko Hong. We get off the big boat to take a sea canoe. The staff paddle the canoe into a cave, very deep with stalactites and stalagmites hanging on our heads. Then, it appears a Hong or lagoon, the big pool surrounded by high rock face with a lot of birds on trees. We go further to Ko Panak, get into Thum Kong Kang. Inside the cave, there are a lot of mangroves and Mud gobies.
Afternoon: We have lunch and paddle the sea canoe around before coming back to the port again. Now, we go ahead to Phuket. We have contacted a bungalow. We are going to stay at Haad Nai Yang or Sirinart Marine National Park
Evening: Just a moment! From mangrove forest, now we are sitting under big Ironwoods at Haad Nai Yang, seeing small children playing in the water. The weather is so nice with the blowing-wind. Tonight we have dinner somewhere around there, and lie down in the wind viewing the moon. Let our hearts go thinking of the passing days.
The 3rd morning: We go to Ao Paw, get on a ferryboat to Ko Yaow Noi, stop by a little bit at a bungalow, then rent a bicycle riding around the island. All day, we wander around the beach and village, stop talking with old villagers, watch birds, and view mangrove forests. We go back to the bungalow in the evening. Be regrettable…why we don’t have more time.
The 4th morning: It’s time to go back…so sad. The three passing days, we have seen and learned a lot of things. If we have a chance, next time we will come back again and stay longer. Bye …Phang-Nga.
P.S. With only 3,000 baht, Travelling around is possible, but it depends on how you make your journey.
