ENCOUNTER (2)

         I crawled up the boat, lying down for awhile to be pampered by a bird. The Editor got up to do the push-up once more while the team member prepared cameras.

         We will re-enter. Although the hope that she would wait was dim, but we opted to risk going back again in order to produce this documentary. I let ‘Yo’ carry the camera with fish eye lens. I myself carried the wide-angle lens. The third camera belonged to khun Sakolpan.

         We entered the water with all cameras we had, carrying more than hundred frames of film because we hoped that within the next fourty minutes we would have another chance to take her photograph...Manta Ray.

         Looking around, everyone was busy preparing equipment. T.O.T. magazine team, with giant size camera. Panorama team, with underwater video camera in hand. Even amateur photographers like khun Manee and khun Tor were also preparing.

         Working team...with equipment...with (dim) hope.

         We were gambling with fate.
